The Southwest ADA Center (formerly the Southwest DBTAC) is sponsoring an intense training for advocates and people with disabilities to learn about accessible transportation and the ADA. Come learn from the premier ADA transportation trainers in the country: Marilyn Golden, with Disability Rights Education and Defense Fund (DREDF), and Russsell Thatcher, with Multisystems.

Hotel Arrangements

The training will be held in the Sheraton Albuquerque Uptown hotel located in the center of Albuquerque's business and financial district, and just 9 miles from the city's historical downtown. All participants should make their own reservations by calling the hotel's reservation department at 800/252-7772. To get the special rate of $79/single or double, $89/triple, $99/quad, identify yourself as part of the ILRU/DLRP conference. These special rates are only guaranteed through February 21.

Transportation Information

Hotel-Provided Transportation The hotel provides transportation within 2 miles of the hotel. Accessible transportation is available. The hotel does not provide transportation to and from the airport.

Go-Fors is a business established especially to serve people with disabilities. Rides to and from the airport cost approximately $20. Shared rides will be cheaper. It is recommended that you call by March 1 to make a reservation. Please identify yourself as part of the DLRP training. You may also make reservations with Go-fors for evening transportation during the training. The number is 505/332-1919. If you do not need an accessible van, please do not contact Go-fors.

Sunport Shuttle provides transportation to and from the airport for $12. They do not have accessible vans. You do not need a reservation for a ride from the airport. Simply proceed to their booth near baggage claim #3. To make a reservation for a return trip, the number is 505/883-4966.

Wheelchair Get-Aways rents accessible vehicles. If you would like to rent an accessible vehicle during the training or for an extended stay in New Mexico, please call 505/247-2626.
